Adaptively Abled Fitness relies on many peoples participation and support. Please join us in our initiative to promote functional fitness to people with disabilities. We are primarily supported by Adaptively Abled Amputees -  a 501(c)3 non-profit.


Melissa DeChellis  - Leader and Organizer

Melissa is a certified adaptive trainer and founder of the Adaptively Abled Amputees non-profit organization. The Pilot is her brainchild.

Erik Kondo - Facility & Administrative

Erik is the owner of Broadway Athletics and the Adaptive Training Studio. He is a peer trainer and experienced in a wide variety of adaptive sports and mobility based activities.


Anna Klecha - Administrative 

Anna is a recent amputee with a new passion for adaptive fitness and recreation. She has in-depth experience in research and educational settings.


Dave Estrada - Community Outreach

Dave is the coordinater for Spaulding Rehabilitation's adaptive exercise program and has been involved in many types of adaptive sports and recreations.



Tim Morris - M.Ed, CSCS, Head Trainer

Tim is a strength coach who also happens to be an adaptive coach/athlete. He uses a unique blend of demanding coaching strategies accompanied by highly-developed verbal cueing and motivational tactics.


James Norris - Peer Trainer

James  is a Handi Capable Athlete and motivational speaker.  He founded Handi Capable Fitness (HCF) with the goal of using individual experiences to better the handi-capable community through conscious dialogue and action.

Michael Frank  is a certified NASM fitness trainer who combines both strength and mobility into his training. He believes living a sustainable life through fitness is key to health and longevity. His unique integration of animal flow and strength training benefits his clients to shed the weight, gain range of motion, and create a fun, healthy attitude to fitness.


Nicole Considine - Personal Trainer.  Nicole is a CrossFit Level 2 trainer at Graviton CrossFit and Commonwealth CrossFit. She is a former division 1 athlete, has her Masters in exercise science and is certified to work with adaptive athletes through CrossFit. Her biggest passion is providing support through sport.


Vince Piraino & Eileen Crehan - Gym Owners

Vince and Eileen are the husband and wife owners of Graviton Crossfit. They have generously donated use of their space for our training program.


Amanda J. Fisher - Photography

Amanda Fisher is an fine art and portrait photographer based in Boston, Massachusetts.When She is not creating images, she loves exploring the woods and trails of New England.


Olivia Morgan is a Registered and Licensed Dietitian at Spaulding Rehabilitation.  She has a firm belief that all foods fit into a balanced diet, and strives to help her patients and clients (including the Adaptively Abled family!) adapt healthy habits to reach their goals.

Adaptively Abled Amputees

Peter Connell is a Strength Trainer at the Quincy, MA, YMCA.  An Amputee Peer Visitor and Adaptive Ski Instructor. He has trained 100 Veterans over five years at the Brockton VA. Awards: Life Time Achievement Award from NEHSA, Tony Santilli Founders Award, and Boston Celtics Heroes Among Us Award


Ash Sze - Volunteer 

Ash is a first year at Tufts majoring in biomedical engineering. He has always done volunteer work in High School so he is excited to have the opportunity to work with Adaptively Abled Amputees!


Erinne Brown brings her experience in healthcare along with a passion for fitness to the Adaptively Abled group. She has a Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy, and enjoys CrossFit, hiking, kayaking, recreational cycling, and anything with animals. Erinne lives in Merrimack NH.


Caitlyn Burkhardt is a seasoned bodyworker and licensed Physical Therapist's Assistant. Her training in neuromuscular therapy, cupping, and sports nutrition, paired with natural intuition and empathy truly gives her clients an eclectic, thorough, and thoughtful experience. She works in Charlestown, MA.


Lena Hedayat - Trainer

Lena is a PhD Physical Therapy student at MGH in Boston.


Lloyd Hawthorn is full-time yoga instructor. He is passionate about creative sequencing, movement, handstands and arm balances, his focus is the integration of the fundamental nature of knowledge, reality and existence to create a space to deepen the inner connection for all.  Lloyd lives in Boston, MA.


Mitch Hutteman is a graduate student at Babson College, and works at TB12 Sports on Boylston Street in Boston. His passion is in health, wellness, and human performance, which is why he does CrossFit everyday, and spreads the word on sustainable health practices that can improve individual’s lives.
